Leaf Cutter Ant (Atta Texana) Nest
In August of 1960, entomologists headed by Dr. John Moser excavated a large Leaf Cutter Ant (Atta Texana) nest. All data was manually plotted and recorded meticulously by hand. With the new technology available, Dr. Moser allowed Texas A&M to revisit the data set, first converting the cavity locations from the hand drawings to digital maps. These were then composited together in 3D to create an accurate visualization of the underground and inner workings of the nest.

Three Pine Tree Studies
Utilizing different commercially available programs and algorithms, pine trees were created to mimic the realistic attributes one would discover in a forest. Each sample tree shown approaches the problem of visualizing the complexities of nature through a unique approach and algorithms.
